Trump promises to publish more secret files on UFOs and JFK

Credit: Gage Skidmore / CC BY-SA 2.0 (adapted) Speaking on The Lex Fridman Podcast recently, Trump seemed quite enthusiastic about the subject of UFOs and expressed a willingness to see to it that more classified material on the subject was released to the general public should he win the US election in November.

"Will you help push the Pentagon to release more footage, which a lot of people claim is available?" Fridman asked.

"Oh yeah, sure, I'll do that. I would do that. I'd love to do that. I have to do that," Trump replied, while suggesting that "there could be life on other planets."

It's certainly not the first time that the 78-year-old has touched upon the topic, having mentioned it even during the final days of his previous term in office back in 2020.

"A lot of my friends are very concerned about what the federal government is doing when it comes to UFOs," Fox Business host Lou Dobbs asked him. "Are you going to commit more resources to exploring UFOs and opening the documents to the public ?""Well, I think you're the - probably in this country - you're the UFO expert, so I'm going to be totally guided by the great Lou Dobbs," Trump replied.

"And I will tell you that I'll do whatever you ask me to do, including total transparency."

UFOs weren't the only controversial topic mentioned during his recent Lex Fridman interview either - he also brought up the subject of the secretive John F Kennedy assassination files.

"They also are pushing me on Kennedy," he said. "And I did release a lot, but I had people come to me and beg me not to do it. But I'll be doing that very early on. But I would do that."

Whether Trump actually will publish any of these files in the event that he becomes president again, however, remains unclear.
