The peculiar incident saw the woman release the bees in an attempt to stop her elderly friend from being evicted.
When deputies arrived at the home of an elderly cancer patient in Springfield, Massachusetts this week, little did they know that they were about to be attacked by a large swarm of stinging insects.
According to reports, Rebecca Woods - a beekeeper and friend of the man who was being evicted - had driven a truck full of beehives to the house and then lifted up the lids to release the insects.
She was quickly arrested, though not before deputies were subjected to a swarm of angry bees.
Footage captured during the incident shows the chaos that ensued.
"This was unlike anything our team has ever experienced," said Hampden county sheriff Nick Cocchi.
Reports indicate that Woods was ultimately found guilty of four misdemeanor counts of assault and battery as well as two counts of reckless assault.
She was sentenced to six months' in prison, but has since filed an appeal.
It turned out that it was all for nothing, too, as her friend sadly did end up losing his home.
