We finally know the name of Steve Spielberg's new UFO-themed movie - and the official trailer is here as well.
Last year, rumors began to circulate suggesting that the legendary director, who introduced the world to Indiana Jones, Jaws and Jurassic Park, was directing a new movie about UFOs and aliens.

Now, at last, we finally know the name of the film - Disclosure Day.

Starring Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo and Eve Hewson, the film's plot is based on a story by Spielberg himself with a screenplay penned by David Koepp.

It is due to be released on June 12th, 2026.
Some of Spielberg's earliest blockbusters also happened to have a distinctly otherworldly vibe.

His 1977 movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, for instance, explored themes such as UFOs, alien abductions and formal contact with a benevolent extraterrestrial civilization.

This theme of aliens being friendly would be further explored in Spielberg's 1982 movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which followed the story of a young boy who befriends an alien stranded on Earth.

For many people who grew up in the 70s and 80s, these movies hold great nostalgia even today.

Whether Disclosure Day will also go down in history as one of his best films, remains to be seen.

Indeed as it always been the purpose of Steven Spielberg, mostly regarding the ET subject.   Lets not forget those movies were either historical or for education purpose, or either based on books...and as for Jaws Spielberg mitigated it quite "a bite" ? As always with Spielberg when Lucas is not involved, i'm thrilled and expecting !

I like David Twothy's "The Arrival" more ?. Sure Charlie Sheen has a silly look throughout the whole film but it's a wild ride anyway.

I personally thought raiders was meh , the follow ups, bad .i get confused with spielberg films . I think American graffiti was his first major and i loved it , next jaws ,loved it . After that a bunch of 80s movies with kids riding bmx bikes , were they all Spielberg films , e.t .. stand by me . Goonies .sure there was more . Thing is Spielberg makes fad films , bmx bikes , aliens  , hollocaust,  Great director who knows what kind of films  the public wants to watch .

Wasn't American Graffiti a George Lucas' film? I remember it and the directing style was certainly not Spielberg's, it was much "softer", so to say.

What do kindergarten teachers do?  Do they indulge the whims and immature impulses of their students or do they try to bring them a better way to live and relate to other people?    A successful director makes the movies people want to see.  A great director makes the movies people need to see.
