The legendary director's upcoming film 'Disclosure Day' has become the center of a new batch of conspiracy theories.
Starring Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo and Eve Hewson, the upcoming science-fiction movie - which will be released on June 12th, 2026 - centers around the themes of extraterrestrial visitation, UFO disclosure and government cover-ups.
For some, however, the plot of the movie is perhaps a little bit too convincing, as evidenced by a growing number of people who seem to think that the movie isn't simply intended as a piece of entertainment, but as a genuine release of information concerning real-life alien visitors.
Its name - Disclosure Day - certainly isn't helping, especially given the apparent secrecy that surrounded its development and how long it took to be formally revealed.
Some now believe that the movie itself features real extraterrestrial entities and spacecraft.
Even the film's posters include the tagline - "All will be disclosed".
"There is a belief in certain circles that Spielberg would not make another UFO movie unless there was something fundamentally different about it," a production source told Radar Online.
"The level of secrecy has convinced conspiracy theorists that this goes beyond fiction, and some genuinely think he has been given access to material the public has never seen."
According to the outlet, another industry source also stated:
"People who already believe the government is hiding proof of aliens see Spielberg as the perfect messenger. They think his movies have been preparing the public for the ultimate 'disclosure' for years."
So could there be any truth to any of this ?
Surely Disclosure Day is little more than a work of fiction... right ?
No doubt we'll find out one way or the other when it screens in cinemas in around 6 months' time.
