Mystery object causes plane to swerve to avoid collision over Hawaii

A woman, who had been a passenger at the time, maintained that the object had appeared very suddenly from a cloud bank.

The pilots had reportedly been forced to swerve to avoid colliding with it.

"Literally scared the hell out of me," she said.

"Both pilots looked at each other and veered to the right."Efforts to determine what the object might have been have since proven fruitless, with the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board unable to confirm whether or not there were any other aircraft in the area at the time.

Mokulele Airlines has also reportedly denied that any near-miss incidents actually took place.

Speaking to Hawaii News about the incident, drone expert Timo Sullivan noted that it shouldn't be possible for a drone to collide with a plane over Hawaii.

"The FAA establishes very clear guidelines of where aircraft can fly," he said.

"Kind of like on a highway, you have your own driving lane. They should never actually interact or you should never have one car or aircraft entering another car's lane."
