Weird numbers and death

Image Credit: sxc.hu A few days ago my mate said to me that whenever he checked the time on his phone it would always show him times such as 11:11, 12:12, 15:15, 17:17, 18:18, 20:20 and so on - these were at random moments when he would just check the time. Then in the evening when we were on the way to a mate's house from work, we were on the train, I checked my phone for messages and noticed that my time said 00:00 which then gave me a strange feeling, however I just disregarded it as a coincidence.That night, some friends were supposed to meet us at the house when they told us that something bad had happened and that they had to go somewhere else. I asked one of my mates what happened and he said that a couple of other mates were involved in a car accident - one of them had died at the scene and the other two were in hospital.

That night, me and my mate were waiting for them to arrive when he mentioned the numbers to me and I suddenly felt sick when we thought that the numbers may have represented a countdown and the last time we checked the time, my phone had said 00:00 which would mean the end, nothing. Either this is just pure coincidence or it has some significant meaning to it - either way we just don't know.
