Blue streak across the road

Image Credit: (PD) I was driving home last night, around 9:15 p.m., it was still slightly daylight and I was able to see everything. I live in a fairly rural area and a blue streak like an LED light went across the road about 20ft in front of me. I thought someone had shot something out of a barrel and then realized there is absolutely nothing like that invented yet.

Guns and bottle rockets have a yellow, red trailing flash. It scared me, because it was level with my headlights, so it wasn't off the ground very much. There were no people around, I'm still amazed and confused as to what that was ?
