Skydiver survives 10,000ft fall to ground

A skydiver has survived a 10,000ft plunge when his parachute failed to open after jumping from a plane over Shropshire, England. Paul Lewis, 40, landed on the roof of an airfield hangar where he was rescued by firefighters.
Paul Lewis, 40, jumped from a plane and plummeted through the air before crashing on to the roof of a hangar at Tilstock Airfield in Whitchurch, Shropshire.He was rescued by firefighters and treated for head and neck injuries, before being airlifted to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, in Stoke-on-Trent.

Hope this isnt like Final Destination where death comes in another, more gruesome, form if you escape it once!

He did the right thing by cutting away but really nothing you can do once your reserve fails. There have been a few people that survived skydiving accidents like that but it is a rare occasion both chutes fail. Hmmm I still never let anyone pack my rigs for me and I always check the lines repeatedly and meticulously. Poor dude.
