A miniature telescope has been developed that can be implanted in to the eye to help the visually impaired.
A miniature telescope that is implanted in the eye to solve sight problems has been approved for use in the US. The new device is for people with an irreversible, advanced form of macular degeneration in which a blind spot develops in the central vision of both eyes.

"Sarah Connor?" Would this mean the guy would no longer be able to compete in professional sports or the Olympics?

Would this mean the guy would no longer be able to compete in professional sports or the Olympics? I'd think only in such cases where it could be determined to be an asset. For instance, the sport of archery. This would be a very unfair advantage. But for, say, long distance running, who cares?

That's what I meant. But yah Archery, Bi-athalon, Javalin in th Olympics. Proffesional sports like Baseball and Baskeball would be changed as well.

I don't see it really helping much with baseball or basketball. Baseball you have to hit a ball that moves to fast for the eye to track anyways, and basketball is very fast-paced, like most sports of its type, so you couldn't use the eye to advantage anyway. Maybe in golf, or another sport with time to think.
