Mark Riccobono has become the first blind man in the US to legally drive a car around a racetrack.
The feat was made possible by a special SUV fitted with sensors that sends vibrating signals to his hands and seat telling him when to turn, speed up and slow down. The project is the product of years of research by the National Federation for the Blind in a bid to create a car that blind people can use to drive on the roads.
A blind man has become the first person in America to legally drive a car around a race track in a test which could one day lead to all visually impaired people taking to the roads.
