Today is Thanksgiving. Nov 22, 2007, Thursday. I am headed up to Placerville to spend Thanksgiving with Nancy Bradley - Psychic to the Stars. My dad and his wife had plans to head out in their RV and I didn't feel like driving to San Jose in holiday traffic to see my family. Nancy graciously invited me to her home to spend Thanksgiving with her. I was introduced to her family and friends and Nancy made me feel like part of her family. When it was time to eat and drink, I feasted on turkey, dates with goat cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, string beans, stuffing, corn, apple pie, pumpkin pie, hot rolls with butter, toasted French bread and other assorted goodies. I brought a strawberry, banana pudding cake. When my throat was parched, I downed a few margaritas and later some regular sodas. There was plenty to eat and Nancy was a wonderful hostess. Her office/home on Forni Road, known as the Enchanted Cottage was filled with warmth and good will. I was able to enjoy good conversation with Nancy's lovely daughter, her husband Robert Reppert of Gold Rush Ghosts, her assistant Catherine Noble, her assistant's lovely daughter and an incredible guy that used to produce his own UFO TV show called UFO Connection, his name is Ron Williams. Ron and I became absorbed with a deep conversation about UFOs and he was telling me of all of his past guests on his show from Stanton T. Friedman to Richard C. Hoagland. Ron ended production of UFO Connection, but after talking with me, why not have one more show with me as a guest. Nancy predicted that Ron would do another show after meeting me. Nancy's insight is incredible. It was also incredible on how she contacted me to come over for Thanksgiving, when I thought I was going to be with my dad. It was as if Nancy knew that my dad had other plans and she was compelled to invite me to her home for Thanksgiving. Nancy has an incredible family and assortment of friends and I wasn't able to meet everyone, but the ones that I did meet left a memorable impression with me. To end this wonderful evening, we all sat around and watched Bruce Willis in Live Free or Die Hard.

Nancy is one of the most incredible psychics I have ever known. When co-workers found out I was having Thanksgiving with Nancy, they all put in their questions for Nancy. One co-worker has a tragic family situation that is now taking place and tearfully asked me to have Nancy assist her with this matter. Without giving Nancy too many details, she was right on the money with on what is happening with my co-worker. She mentioned three things about my co-worker's family that were absolutely correct. Due to the confidentiality of this matter, I can't disclose what those details are, but I am always amazed at Nancy's incredible insight. What a gift she has and she is so willing to assist people that are in need, she felt my co-worker was definitely a person in need and not looking out for her own self gratification.

You the reader are wondering. Why is Paul telling us about his Thanksgiving Day? Why isn't Paul talking about his ghost investigations? Is this just a holiday story or will there be more to this? Okay, okay, there is more to this. Nancy Bradley's husband Robert Reppert is a ghost hunter himself and runs a business called Gold Rush Ghosts, see: http://www.goldrushghosts.com/ and Nancy's assistant Catherine Noble assists Robert on various cases, not to mention the legendary insight of Nancy Bradley. Nancy was only too happy to take me to her old case files, some of the case files she inherited from Vincent Gaddis, an American author that coined the phrase 'Bermuda Triangle'. Some of the files, the paper is yellowing and I strongly encouraged Nancy to get these important files placed on some computer hard drive for preservation purposes. Nancy agreed and said it will be done soon. Now let's talk about a couple of cases that Nancy showed me.

Case #1 World Famous Gallatin's Restaurant in Monterey, California. The Phantom Mayor.
The ghostly former owner of this restaurant/mansion would enjoy harassing the employees of this restaurant, until they threw their hands up and quit. If you stole or defaced this property, you felt the ghostly wrath of this former owner. This restaurant/mansion was formerly known as Stokes Abode. James Stokes, the owner of this mansion, was the first American Mayor of Monterey. Employees who were not honest or did something wrong in this restaurant were pushed down the stairs by shadowy figures. Some employees felt like they were being stalked by a shadowy figure. Sometimes food was thrown at bad employees and other times employees were chased by phantom footsteps. One waitress was constantly being tripped by an unseen presence and finally she had enough and wailing her fists in the air, asked the entity to stop bothering her. It was discovered at a later time that the cash register was coming up short and after she left, the problem was resolved. The ghost of the first Mayor of Monterey has been seen in the window of this establishment. Many other disturbances have occurred, such as lights turning off and on by itself. The most scary moment is when a 1500 lb bar started snaking across the floor on its own. The legend of this establishment is that if employees are honest and hard workers and everything is running smoothly, there are no paranormal disturbances. But, if things are not running smoothly in this restaurant, you better watch out for The Phantom Mayor! Nancy showed me a black and white photo of this building and below is a woman standing by the doorway, upstairs at the 2nd floor window, it looks like the appearance of 3 small apparitions.

Case #2 The Old Christian Church in Lakeport, California. The Malevolent One-Armed Elijah.
At this church, the present owner of the church (Lyn Stanaitis) was lifted off the ground by an unseen force, in which he actually hovered in the air. When he was finally put down, it was a rough landing down 7 steps of stairs. Fortunately the present owner was not hurt. When things are changed in the church, they feel the fury of Elijah. This church was built in 1885 on 100 Forbes Street. The ghost named Elijah protects the church and wants everything kept the same. In 1968, the church owners hired a painter. When the painter started painting the steeple, he fell violently to his death. Could have Elijah been involved in his early demise? The autopsy report said he died due to 'obscure death'. It was believed he was dead before he even hit the ground. Did the painter see the ghost of Elijah? When there were sounds of footsteps, crashing noises coming from the church, it was time to have a medium look into this mystery, especially when the front doors of the church would never stay locked. The medium identified the ghost as Elijah, a one armed carpenter. Elijah was the victim of teenagers who rigged his saw, causing his arm to be ripped out from its socket. Elijah despises children and especially teenagers. Other pranks that Elijah is infamous for are knocking mirrors and paintings off the wall. One time Elijah caused a hammer to fly out of the hand of a worker that was trying to put up a painting. The worker said..."okay Elijah, I guess you don't want this painting on the wall!" Elijah merely wants the church to remain the same as he remembers it.

Why does the Phantom Mayor of Monterey and the Malevolent One-Armed Elijah haunt these establishments? Probably because they feel they are connected and bonded to these structures. They don't want to go into the light, they want to stay here on Earth and protect something that they felt close to, something that they loved and had a lot of pride for. The Mayor and Elijah feel they have unfinished business on Earth and because of that they will stay.

Since I have been writing paranormal articles, I have received some great ghost stories from my fans. I have placed their stories on my website for all to read. Below are two spectacular ghost stories that I would like to share:

The Rosemary Campbell Story

The Cat Ferris Story

Holly DeLaughter is a sensitive, volunteer worker for psychic Sylvia Brown and a paranormal investigator/scout for HPI, she wishes to share her blog to the world:

Holly has proven herself as a sensitive. During the Leonard Lake/Charles Ng crime site investigation, she told a few of us, that she was drawn towards a tree, she snaps a picture and gets what appears to be ectoplasm near the tree of question. Another time at the I-5 Killer murder site, she feels she needs to snap a picture of the Sacramento River and gets a dark orb hovering over the river. At the Gaines Residence haunting investigation, she seeks out Bogie the Ghost Dog, snaps a picture and there is a picture of what looks like a large bright orb moving across the back lawn with a tail. Just recently at the Sierra 2 HPI meeting, she tells me that there is a presence near one of our investigators Chris Grissom, when looking at the picture, there is a small orb hovering over Chris from this meeting. So, when you have a chance, check out her blog as she discusses investigations with HPI and some of her psychic abilities.

I recently wrote an article about the Haunted Leger Hotel. I received an email from Trae Parker, one of the patrons I interviewed and she corrected me on a statement that she relayed to me. She says:
"Paul,
I think that you may have misunderstood the Cindy Vanderheim (murder case - Cindy Vanderheim was the murder victim) thing...I did not have any involvement with the police on her case. I was guided by insight and guidance from the ghost of Cindy Vanderheim herself. I was afraid of the fact that her case was never solved and when I was led to the facts I got scared and have never discussed it with anyone."

Thank you Trae, I stand corrected. Trae Parker is a sensitive and related many experiences she has had with the paranormal.

A co-worker named Retri Hitms relates to me that when she had her hand stuck in a garbage disposal that was turned on, an unseen force grabbed her arm and pulled it out from the garbage disposal. Her hand was bloody and cut to the bone. She believes that the unseen force was her long deceased grandmother. She had another paranormal experience. She was driving and asked her deceased friend for 10 days off from work. She wears the reminder band of her deceased friend on her wrist. Right at the time that she made this request, her car hits a tree. She was absent from work precisely 10 days, due to the car accident. She tells me that she was touched by the paranormal twice in her life and she will never forget these experiences from the unknown.

As I left Nancy Bradley's home, I got on the phone with Shannon McCabe to discuss the Nancy Bradley/Vincent Gaddis files and noticed I was driving past the former military base known as Mather Air Force Base. There have been many reports that military bases are known to be haunted due to military training accidents, suicides and even murders. I said to myself, what the heck, there is the exit, I might as well do a quick investigation. The last time I went to Mather AFB was back in the 70s, when an Air Force girl that I met at a nightclub called Steamboat Navigation snuck me into her all girl barracks. On this night, there wouldn't be that kind of fun. I was here to see if I could discover anything paranormal in nature. As I strolled by what were once barracks, I decided not to take any photographs, so I don't bring any attention to myself. I used my Listen Up sound enhancer instead. After poking around for about 30 minutes, I heard a distinct male voice say: "Leave now!" As I looked, there was a police car patrolling the grounds. It was as if someone wanted me to leave before I was arrested for ghost snooping.

Well, this ends a wonderful Thanksgiving and I even did a fast scouting mission at Mather AFB, something I always wanted to do. Thank you to Nancy and her wonderful family and friends and thank you for sharing your files to the world!
