Spectacular fireball explodes over Siberia

Russia has seen more than its fair share of space rocks exploding in the Earth's atmosphere in recent months.
The impressive fireball, which exploded over the Siberian town of Krasnoyarsk, is the latest in a series of meteor explosions to have been reported over Russia since December of last year.

While harmless, it is likely to have given witnesses quite a scare.

The event follows a much larger explosion that occurred over the Bering Sea back in December that went generally unnoticed at the time but was later revealed to be comparable to the 2013 Chelyabinsk meteor explosion which caused widespread damage over several square miles.

Fortunately in this case however the fireball was too small to cause any damage.

Some footage of the phenomenon can be viewed below.
