'Deceased' Polish woman wakes up in morgue

Despite being declared clinically dead several hours beforehand Mrs Kolkiewicz had apparently regained consciousness and now appeared to be in perfect health.

The doctor who issued the death certificate couldn't believe it."If I had had any doubts about her being dead I would have called an ambulance and would have tried to resuscitate her," he said. "But she had no vital signs: no pulse, nothing."

The woman's neice, Bogumila Kolkiewicz, described how she had been in shock since receiving a phone call at midnight to tell her that her aunt was very much alive.

"She doesn't know what happened to her, but she's in good health," she said.
