A new science video has been exploring what might become of our species over the next few centuries.
In the animal kingdom species are changing all the time and humans are no exception.

Even over the last 150 years we have seen mankind's average height increase by around ten centimeters and our average life expectancy rise by more than two decades.

But what is likely to happen to us over the next 1,000 years ? Will we even be recognizable ?

Transhumanism - the use of technology to repair and enhance our bodies, could eventually play a major role in many people's lives. Tiny robots called nanobots could swarm around inside us on a permanent basis and help with things such as removing artery blockages and fighting diseases.
Bionic augmentations could improve our eyesight, make us physically stronger, boost our brain power and enable all manner of enhanced superhuman abilities that do not occur naturally.

On the evolutionary side of things there are likely to be some changes too - for instance being thinner and taller may help us cope better with rising global temperatures.

We may even develop a few unique traits that are unheard of today such as red-colored eyes.

Oh a society with advanced nano bots could never be destroyed by a virus. The nanobots would kill them. Now some sort of computer virus... That's different. Gese don't people watch Star Trek anymore. Didn't they choose not to destroy the borg this way because it was ethically unsound. But turning Hugh into a demagogue was more effective anyway.

If humans haven't overcome their greed and grandiose claims to personal entitlements and rights by then, I see the whole world becoming a 'third world country' where people will kill each other over a loaf of bread or a drink of water. We'll all de-evolve back into a neanderthal mindset, with the protection of our own property and territory first and foremost in our minds. With all of the suspicion and mistrust humans have towards each other, I see any future race of humans living in societies and communities based upon 'common interests' and 'shared beliefs' to keep their standards and philos... But turning Hugh into a demagogue was more effective anyway. Every thing like this started with a gene. :D My nack for remembering tiny details when they are needed has come full force. I apologize I wish it was more usefull.

Considering the mass influx of 3rd world migrants into Europe, the US seeing its highest rate in immigration legal and illegal in history combined with socialist style governments throughout the Western world and welfare being the leading expenditure of those governments has them on the road to imminent collapse. When the western world goes it will have a cascading effect on the rest of the world as world economies are contingent upon the West. Considering the mass influx of migrants into Europe are Muslim and they are not going to stop coming nor are they going to stop breeding, it is only a ... [More]

Predictions It will happen in a sequence. Humans will continue to advance technologically for the next 1-100 years, but we have an extremely poor ability to process low risk but high consequence events. Our technology is getting smaller and smaller and more powerful but not more rigorous. This will be the beginnig of our first major obstacle in technological advnnment and will set us back. A solar super storm is comeing some time in the next 300 years that will destroy all of our tiny electronic devices. The latter it happens the more we will be reliant on them. We are nearly at a tipping poin... [More]
