The tuxedo-wearing infant was recently 'elected' to serve as honorary Mayor of Whitehall, Texas.
In one of the most bizarre inauguration ceremonies in recent memory, seven-month-old William Charles 'Charlie' McMillian ( or Mayor Charlie ) was sworn into office on Sunday afternoon.
As many as 150 people attended the ceremony which had been organized by his parents.
"He just sat there and kind of goo-goo-ga-ga'd over the people that were all around, like a happy little kid," said attendee Josh Fultz. "The whole event was well-planned out by his parents. It was like any inauguration you could imagine, just on a much smaller scale."
"Everybody was wanting to hold him and walk around with him and the love that was in the air was very strong. We're in a difficult time in our country's history and Mayor Charlie is helping to bring peace and kindness back into the community. That's really the whole goal."
Of course Major Charlie isn't actually the real mayor of the town - his position is entirely honorary and the whole thing is part of an annual fundraiser organized by the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department.
Given all the doom and gloom in politics at the moment however, it certainly makes for a nice change.
