Could this be a kite, a drone, or something else ? Image Credit: YouTube / om
A recently uploaded video shows a peculiar triangular-shaped object gliding across the sky in South America.
The footage, which was uploaded on May 3rd by YouTube user 'om', shows the object - which resembles a triangular wedge shape - moving from left to right high up above the trees.
"I thought it was a kite but it flew slowly in a straight line," the uploader wrote. "Then I realized it wasn't a kite. It has an obvious triangular shape, if it's not [a] UFO, what is it ?"
A short time later he elaborated further on the story behind the recording:
"I filmed this just now on top of a mountain in Colombia," he wrote. "At first I thought it was a kite because of the shape but it's not that windy."
"Then it flew slowly in a straight line from East to West (or South to North)."
"It was much clearer when I look especially when it was over my head, I saw it wasn't flat shape, kind of like upside triangular pyramid."
So what could the object be ?
One possibility is that his initial reaction - that it was a kite - might not be that unreasonable. Perhaps it is a kite that escaped and was picked up by strong winds that carried it across a large distance.
It is also important not to discount the possibility of a hoax - could the UFO be computer generated ?
Ultimately, it's difficult to say.
You can check out the video for yourself below - what do you think ?
Yeah, it looks a lot like a kite. The guy says it was not a kite and the object was moving, guess his battery died when it started moving. Interestingly enough, I went to youtube to find a video of actual kites in the sky and ran into this interesting video: He doesn't claim its a UFO, but a kite hologram.
Almost the first thing you learn when editing videos, is that additions must be matched to the scene properly. So the video editor programs provide tools to do things like match the lighting, the camera shake. Things can be 'linked' to a background object or objects and you can even match the focus blurring in and out as the AF 'hunts', and other effects. This is Faking 101.... To summarise, if you are going to fake it is (sadly) good practice to make your fake look like it was done by someone with Parkinsons, and with every possible camera setting wrong (eg autofocus and digital zoom on - ... does anyone really care what it is? if 'somehow' we find out what it is, it's highly unlikely to be something oh weird & wonderful, is it- really!?. boring
Rather peculiarly filmed, btw. A cynical person might wonder why he never even got close to centering the item in the frame - it was almost as if he only wanted footage that mostly included the tree and left room for the UFO ... to be added later?.. Despite that, it just doesn't seem to be interesting enough to be a fake...
