Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl: 'I'm a total UFO nerd'

Speaking during a promotion for his upcoming memoir, he took the time to answer a few questions - including one about a subject that has long been dear to his heart - UFOs.

"Foo Fighters are named after a military term for UFOs. What did you think of the supposed UFO images that the US government released this summer?" the interviewer asked him.

"Oh, I'm a total UFO nerd and I have been for decades," he replied."So I've been following it - but what's happening now, I don't think is new. I'm of the belief that that we are not alone, and I'm totally okay with that, you know? It doesn't really change my day too much. "

"When I look up at the stars I think, 'God, I hope we're not alone. What a drag that would be.'"

Back in 2015, he also spoke to Billboard magazine about the topic.

"In another life, I hope that I was an astrophysicist," he said at the time. "I spend most of my time online in the science section of Google news. It's what I do all day long. I'm a UFO fanatic."
