Weird Chinese goose lays eggs with black yolks

Image Credit: YouTube According to reports, a man identified only as 'Zhu', who hails from China's Hangzhou City, recently generated a great deal of attention on Chinese social media when he posted up a series of photographs and video clips of goose eggs being cracked open to reveal tar-black egg yolks.

Zhu maintains that the eggs came from a goose on his friend's farm and that the same bird had produced plenty of regular eggs before.

When he cracked open the latest batch, however, the egg yolks were a disconcerting black color, even though they were otherwise normal and did not smell as though anything was amiss.His postings received a variety of comments from other users, with some suggesting that the goose may have been feeding on black mulberries which are known to boost melanin production.

Despite the fact that there are indeed mulberries growing on the farm, Zhu remains unconvinced.

As things stand, no definitive explanation for the phenomenon has been found.
