What exactly is this thing ? Image Credit: Instagram / Valentina Rueda Velez
Well known Colombian model Valentina Rueda Velez was the passenger who recorded the footage at the time.
The clip, which has been doing the rounds on social media and various news outlets this week, was filmed from the window of a private plane on April 4th during a flight somewhere over Colombia.
In the video, a strange object can be seen hurtling towards the plane from some clouds up ahead before passing the aircraft on the left-hand side.
A close-up shows the 'UFO' to be a metallic object, almost like a curved sheet of metal with no discernible features indicative of propulsion and no similarity to any known type of aircraft.
"When you fly and see and [sic] alien," Velez wrote in the caption.
As things stand, the nature of the object remains unclear. It is possible that it is a piece of debris from something, or perhaps a sheet of some lightweight metallic material caught by the wind.
There's also the chance that it could be a hoax created using computer imagery.
You can check out the footage for yourself below - what do you think it shows ?
imo it's probably cgi.. it 'seems' to be a large object.. if it were something normal like a large plastic covering of some kind it would have been reported as a safety threat. i was not from what i've researched.. it's the usual: the only report of this strange happening is via the person who uploaded the video= boring
A floating balloon is what it looks like but the shape makes no sense that I can see. Usually a metallic Mylar balloon is either a standard oval shape or designed to look like something such as an animal. Maybe it’s high enough that thin air pressure has deformed it?
So model Valentina Rueda Velez wasn't on that flight at all. A video popped up on YouTube last night in which she says she wasn't there and the only connection is that she shared the video on social media. I was going to post it here last night but was falling asleep fast. https://youtube.com/shorts/eQN7kW9tkBM?feature=share
I've been going over this one quite a lot in my head lately. I've downloaded the video, zoomed in, played it on a loop. I am not a professional but I don't think this is CGI. I originally considered CGI as a possibility but not after many repeat viewings. It could be a balloon. However, it is interesting nonetheless. I find this footage a lot more interesting now than when I first viewed it. But, yeah, that model who allegedly filmed it wasn't actually on that plane and didn't film it. She simply shared it to social media or something and people took that as her posting an original video. Edit... [More]
Or so they say. It's funny how it's so acceptable to assume random speculative conclusions if they fit a chosen narrative. Probably a thermal blanket, but since you mention it there is no proof whatsoever of that unless someone goes out there and pokes it.
Oh I completely agree. I think the main argument was it could be identified as a specific piece of debris, but I could be mistaken. I haven't read much about it in many years. But, I agree using speculation to fit a narrative is absolutely not scientific.
