Five people had reportedly been in the vehicle at the time that it had inexplicably driven into the water.
Tourists can do some strange things and this latest mishap, which happened at the iconic national park last week, is a perfect example of what not to do when visiting the area.
According to reports, five visitors ended up in hot water (quite literally) when they drove their SUV into the Semi-Centennial Geyser - an acidic body of water situated near the park's Roaring Mountain.
While the geyser itself has been inactive for over 100 years, the water is not particularly inviting and falling in would be the equivalent of taking a bath in hot vinegar.
The vehicle ended up fully submerged, but all five occupants managed to make it to safety.
They were later taken by ambulance to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The road around the location of the accident was cordoned off and an investigation carried out.
It still remains unclear exactly how the SUV had ended up in the lake.
