A Loch Ness research vessel has picked up a significant 'underwater presence' in the depths of the loch.
Just a few days after seasoned Loch Ness skipper Shaun Sloggie captured a strange underwater object on his sonar, The Loch Ness Center's Deepscan cruise vessel has reported the detection of a peculiar 'underwater anomaly' that nobody has been able to explain.
The vessel, which is equipped with sophisticated radar technology, picked up something strange approximately 200 meters beneath the surface between Urquhart Castle and Fort Augustus back on October 3rd.
The fact that two anomalies have been detected in Loch Ness within the space of a week makes this an intriguing find indeed.
"These radar readings have raised many questions about what lurks in the depths of Loch Ness," said Loch Ness Center general manager Nagina Ishaq.
"Our Deepscan cruise has consistently aimed to deepen our understanding of the loch's ecosystem, and this finding shows that there are still many unknowns about the loch."
"We are currently working with Loch Ness researchers to conduct further analysis of these readings which hopefully mark a major milestone in the search for Nessie."
