Retired general William Neil McCasland had many links to government conspiracies and the UFO phenomenon.
It's a mystery that continues to grip the nation and now, two weeks later, the mysterious disappearance of the 68-year-old seems no closer to being solved.

The strangeness began on February 27th when McCasland left his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico and vanished without a trace, with nobody having seen him at all since that time.

According to his wife, he had left home without his phone or his watch - a fact that she found particularly odd as, being an experienced outdoorsman, this isn't something he would normally do.

He also suffers from a medical condition that makes his disappearance even more of a concern.

According to reports, the lack of progress in finding him has prompted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to get involved in the hope of determining what might have happened to him.

The only thing we know so far, courtesy of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, is that no evidence of foul play has been found.
An appeal for local security footage and witness sightings has also gone out across the area.

Back during his US Air Force days, McCasland was often associated with the UFO phenomenon.

He once headed up the Air Force Research Laboratory at the Wright-Patterson Air Force base in Ohio where he managed a $2.2 billion science and technology program.

The base has long been associated with black projects and rumors of reverse-engineered alien technology and is also the place where the Roswell UFO debris was said to have been taken.

It was also connected to Project Blue Book which looked at thousands of UFO cases.

Whether or not any of this has anything to do with his disappearance, however, remains unclear.

Another mysterious NASA death as ninth scientist linked to secret programs dies

My guess now is that he was killed with his own - now conveniently disappeared - revolver; maybe at home? This is a case for Detective Frank Columbo.

Nothing in the article actually states anything related to Secret or Classified programs. "He assisted on the DART Project, the Near Earth Asteroid Tracking (NEAT) Project, the Dawn Mission, and the NASA Deep Space 1 Mission."  NOT SECRET "It is unclear if there’s any foul play linked to Hicks’ death, but his obituary asks for donations in his memory to go to Alcoholics Anonymous." I think that part starts to provide context for the what promted the disappearances and deaths.

Disappearance of rocket scientist takes chilling turn after link to critical defense technology comes to light

The Daily Mail. ? This is a classic case of stacking unrelated details to manufacture intrigue. "Rocket scientist" "advanced aerospace materials" "Air Force and NASA linked programs" and "one of a kind patent" all sound dramatic, but none of it is relevant to a missing person investigation. The patent angle is especially misleading. Being a co inventor on materials or alloys used in aerospace is normal for engineers working at places like Rocketdyne. It is not unusual, and it has no demonstrated connection to her disappearance. Surviving co inventor status is also just a function of time, ... [More]

Maybe the aliens beamed him up?  No car or phone necessary where he went.

The local news had a story and released a synapsis of the 911 call his wife made.   Apparently there was a physical condition that she said he did not want to live with, she didn't say it was his condition, she said "We went to the doctor and got a diagnosis, it was the same doctor I was visiting when he disappeared."   Still very convoluted and weird.   So, who was ill is still unclear.   Even as rugged as the mountains are behind the subdivision he lived in, which is not really that rugged as humans have been walking, changing, and climbing there for years, he would have been found; unle...
