New details of UFO and alien encounters emerge from FBI files

The newly released files contain multiple accounts of UFO encounters and references to extraterrestrial visitors.
Mere hours after the Pentagon released the first batch of Trump's UFO files, the Internet was alive with debate, discussion and speculation as researchers and news agencies sifted through the documents for anything that might help to shine some new light on the phenomenon.

Many of the documents contain things we've heard of before - stories of UFOs interfering with electronic equipment, objects exhibiting extraordinary speeds and capabilities and testimonies from military personnel detailing close encounters with UAPs in air space across the world.

One of the most interesting new documents is a memo discussing how a book (Flying Saucers - Serious Business) by author Frank Edwards had significantly increased the public's awareness of the phenomenon in the 1960s.

"A few witnesses have reported seeing crewmen who had landed from the objects, who are described as three-and-a-half to four feet tall, wearing what appear to be space suits and helmets," the memo reads.

"The above is being called to the Bureau's attention in view of the press report of mounting pressure for a civilian controlled investigative agency to handle UFO matters."

The memo was sent to the director of the FBI as well as to Edward Condon - a nuclear physicist who briefly worked on the Manhattan Project and who headed up a major government-backed study into the UFO phenomenon.
It discusses Edwards' claims that UFOs are "space vehicles sent to observe activities on earth".

"Many of the persons named in the book who have reported them are reliable individuals, including law enforcement officers, military personnel on official duty, military pilots, commercial airline pilots, civilian defense officials, etc," the memo reads.

"A number of photographs of the objects have been reproduced in the book, some reportedly taken by reputable persons. Many reported sightings are from atomic and missile research areas."

This particular document is compelling because, not only does it show that the FBI was interested in what an author had written in a book about UFOs, but also that the claims presented - which echo many of the reports still emerging today - were being taken quite seriously.

It also shows how the FBI was keeping tabs on what might be influencing public perception of UFOs.

They are already here:   And you may be one of them.

And here we have an excellent example.  Nothing to offer but a ‘trust me bro’. But I’m supposed to take your word on faith. No I won’t be happy.  You are being played, and seemingly loving it, what was once almost a legitimate area of interest has become a political hustle, and as the trash builds up, the genuine interesting unknowns sink to the bottom.

I am not asking you or any other yahoo to trust me or even to hear what I have to say about my personal UFO experience. All I meant by that was that people that have seen UFO's will keep the UFO phenomena going. Is that too much for you to understand? Anybody that thinks the UFO phenomena is on the wane is clearly delusional. The  phenomena has never reached such lofty heights as the right now.    You're an ignorant fool if you think I need you to advise me as to when I'm being "played".

Yet you feel the need to aggressively argue against me, with swears and everything. If you don’t need that validation what exactly is your point?  I don’t know what you saw, but that’s not really my point here. Congress, Burchette, Luna and other more idiotic characters are calling this ‘disclosure’.  There’s no disclosure here, just historical, grainy crap, all debunked within hours of release. Disclosure would be Trump making a statement saying, Alien life has visited us on earth, here is the proof.  Do you think this is it? Do you think the proof will be in the next release? ... [More]

I believe you saw a "ufo". People see things in the sky that are "unidentified" (to them) all the time. I saw a couple with a friend in the 60's that still have me baffled. It's the claim they must be alien craft that I think gets people going. Though for myself I don't doubt there will be a rational explanation, even if it escapes me and I have no reason to think aliens. I realise I can be fooled with perception and mistaken about lots of things. I have no idea what you saw though, so can't really comment.
