It was around 7:15 on a Thursday morning, when I heard the unidentified voice. It was as clear as day and it woke me up out my sleep: “Your dad is gone”. As soon as I heard the voice, I immediately refuted it and got up to get ready for work. I don’t feed into negative energy. I reject it and moved on, as I did that morning. However, I couldn’t stop thinking about it later that morning at work. It was around 10am that same morning when I picked up the phone to check on my dad to see if he was ok. I had just seen him the night before and he seemed fine. He was acting like his usual self. We had dinner and talked outside with his one of his neighbors for about a good half hour. Then I headed home. His last words to me were “Love you. You be good”. To make a long story short, after several unsuccessful attempts of calling him, I found out the next day that he had passed away in his home. The security guard who was working in his apartment complex reported him as “unresponsive”. He was pronounced dead as soon as the corner came shortly after.
My father passed away 2 years ago after his long battle with congested heart failure. In the months preceding his death, I could tell he was sick but he didn’t seem to act much different. Or perhaps he played down his sickness so he wouldn’t worry me. I was very optimistic about him getting better because I’ve heard that people can still live many years with the disease, as long as they make changes in their lifestyle. However, it was too late for my dad. He passed away a few months after he was diagnosed. It shocked the entire family. Especially me. We knew it would happen eventually, but we didn’t know it would happen that soon. Our guess is that he had it for years but didn’t know, or knew about it and never told us.
Two years later, I still think about that voice I heard the day before he died. It was loud, firm, and direct. It still gives me chills. It was like a warning. But it was unexplainable in its nature and origin. One could easily say I was having an auditory hallucination, going crazy… or blame it on hypnagogia. But none of those were the case, because it actually happened: The next day I found out he was gone. I believe the voice was a warning. But from who? Most people would label me crazy if I told them I heard God’s voice. But I may have. Has anyone ever experienced this before before the death of a loved one? Since then, I'm 100% sure the supernatural world is real. This put all my doubts aside.
