Turkish engineers build real-life Transformer

Optimus Prime, eat your heart out. Image Credit: YouTube / Letrons Designed and built by a team of 12 engineers and 4 technicians, this unbelievable shape-shifting robot was constructed out of an ordinary BMW and appears to be the real deal.

Known as the ANTIMON, the vehicle is capable of transforming in to a standing humanoid robot in much the same way as the characters in the popular 'Transformers' animated TV series.

Letvision, the firm behind the invention, is hoping to improve the design by making it possible for the robot to actually walk around as well as to make it drivable while it is in its 'car mode'.

It may even be possible for the public to purchase one however the price has yet to be disclosed.
