The firm's robotic dog 'Spot' has taken one step closer to world domination - and it sounds like a British butler.
Boston Dynamics never fails to impress when it comes to the development of sophisticated robots and now, thanks to the capabilities of ChatGPT, the firm's 'Spot' robot has even acquired the ability to have a polite conversation with you.

In a recent video, the four-legged contraption can be seen providing a guided tour of one of the firm's rooms, complete with a posh English accent and the capacity to understand and respond to questions.

It's an impressive demonstration and one that shows just what might be possible in the future.
"There's been a lot of new advances around AI technology - specifically generative AI technologies," said Matt Klingensmith, principal software engineer for robot autonomy at Boston Dynamics.

"Things that are able to write poetry or paint pictures or chat with people. We were interested in seeing how we could use technologies like these for robotics."

For anyone concerned about a robot uprising - it's important to remember that AI systems like ChatGPT have no conscious awareness - it is all just software analyzing data on a computer.

For now, at least...

Okay thanks.  I'd never heard of Corridor Digital before.  Looked it up so, yeah, thanks!  Wow...they're good!  That's amazing...especially when the Robot gets ticked off and flips the table...and gets all offensive, kicking and shooting.

It's good, isn't it? If you watch it to the end, you'll see he finally rebels when they ask him to harm another robot.
