Prehistoric bird species could not flap wings

Scientists believe some of the earliest species of prehistoric birds wouldn't have been able to flap their wings.
Early types of birds such as the Archaeopteryx that lived 140 million years ago might have been incapable of powered flight because their feathers were too weak, instead opting to glide between the trees.Some of the earliest species of bird would probably have been unable to flap their wings because their feathers were too weak, new evidence suggests.
