With NASA recently pulling out of the race to return to the Moon it looks like China could be set to take first place.
It is believed China could succeed in placing a man on the moon by as early as 2020, with NASA's funding insufficient to support their $81 billion Constellation programme the door has been left wide open for other countries to undertake a manned return to the lunar surface.
The Chinese space agency could land its first astronauts on the moon within a decade in a move that would mark the beginning of a new age of lunar exploration, experts said today.
