Two men who had been cleaning up after a flood couldn't believe their luck when they found a fully stocked fridge.
Kyle Simpson and his friend Gayland Stouffer made the remarkable discovery last weekend during efforts to clean up their damaged Nebraska property following extensive flooding in the area.
"He says, 'Hey, this is a refrigerator'," said Simpson. "And he opens it up and says, 'It's full of beer.' I said, 'Yeah, right.' And he reaches in and says, 'It's ice-cold.'"
"It was a gift sent from the heavens, and we were happy to see it. But we hoped the people who lost the fridge were OK, we hoped their property was OK."
"We've been there a long time, we've been through floods, and this one by far is the worst."
As luck would have it, the owner of the fridge (and the beer), Brian Healy, saw the post on social media and came forward to offer his side of the story. It turns out that the unit had been kept at his family's cabin and was stuffed full of Bud Light because it was his father's favorite drink.
Sadly though, the cabin itself was destroyed in the flooding.
