Pentagon renames and expands its UFO office

The US government's official UFO investigation office is being rebranded after just 8 months on the job.
Formerly known as the Airborne Object Identification and Management Group, the office is now being updated and expanded to investigate more than just unidenfitied flying objects.

Its new name will be AARO (Airborne Object Identification and Management Group).

Its expanded focus will look into what are being referred to as "transmedium" objects - unidentified vehicles capable of operating both in the sky and under the sea.
This definition also applies to objects capable of transitioning from flying within Earth's atmosphere to flying in space.

The updated name reflects the growing number of reports from US Navy personnel involving objects that have been seen emerging from the sea or moving into and out of the water.

Whether or not the public will actually get to hear about the group's findings, however, remains to be seen.

I didn’t state that having a parallel agency was a good thing I stated that having synchronisation between different stakeholders with intersecting goals is a good thing. If they keep going back to something and trying to improve on it then it is because there is an organisational need for it. If the previous attempts have not been sufficiently successful then it makes sense to try and fix it.   I don’t know how successful this new group will be but I’m not going to dismiss the idea out of hand just because some guy on the internet who names himself after a character that is famous for ... Oh dear, I think your taking this all a bit personally. My profile name much like my opinion is irrelevant. I chose it because that was the most recent episode I had seen and thought his camp was wonderful. Also, i haven't told you to do anything. Your ideas and path are your own. Again, take care and have a great day.

Sorry but I couldn’t resist the joke. I like Trelane, he basically led to Q but that your argument against the new group  basically boils down to it hasn’t worked in the past it seemed like a perfect parallel given that the character of Trelane's Achilles heal was that he was prejudging the world of today (or at least a 1960’s version of the 23rd century) through the lens of the past. You can disagree with the parallel I’ve drawn but hopefully you understand that metaphor was just a riff on a TV show we’ve both enjoyed.

This is the question right?   it’s because of the “need to know” structure of the military. I’ve had access to the Dod databases and the famed “cia google” and there are wall after wall after wall of need to know. And on some subjects very very few people are viewed as needing to know.    they set up this group as a watchdog and to make people happy. It makes me happy so it’s working.

So they are renaming the office to reflect that the craft fly in and out of the water as the navy has reported for years... But still aren't admitting to seeing anything?

They are simply looking into these alleged incidents. The DoD hasn't reported these stories but there's been a push through select members of Congress to get answers and transparency to these stories. The DoD itself likely will never make that kind of release of information or statement.

I think renaming the program to reflect the abilities of the craft is statement enough. Its hilarious really, pulling the horse behind the cart like that.
