Pentagon renames and expands its UFO office

The new office will investigate 'transmedium' objects. Image Credit: PD - Kai Stachowiak Formerly known as the Airborne Object Identification and Management Group, the office is now being updated and expanded to investigate more than just unidenfitied flying objects.

Its new name will be AARO (Airborne Object Identification and Management Group).

Its expanded focus will look into what are being referred to as "transmedium" objects - unidentified vehicles capable of operating both in the sky and under the sea.This definition also applies to objects capable of transitioning from flying within Earth's atmosphere to flying in space.

The updated name reflects the growing number of reports from US Navy personnel involving objects that have been seen emerging from the sea or moving into and out of the water.

Whether or not the public will actually get to hear about the group's findings, however, remains to be seen.
