The unusual story is covered by a new documentary about the British royal family's connection to the phenomenon.
Did King Charles once pilot a UFO ? It might sound bizarre, but according to Mark Christopher Lee - director of new documentary The King of UFOs - the story does actually have some merit.

The original claim came courtesy of Canadian diver Dan Costello who maintained that he had seen Charles - who was still Prince of Wales at the time - controlling a strange disc-shaped craft of some kind alongside two other pilots at Sandy Point in Nova Scotia.

The object, which was clearly some sort of prototype, was described as 'UFO-esque' and was said to have produced a bluish ionic flame which left the ground singed underneath it.

Charles had reportedly been invited to pilot the vehicle - which was part of something called 'Project Serpico' - while serving in the Royal Navy as a helicopter pilot.

"The craft had dual rotor blades like a helicopter, but it would also just sit and hover in the sky with the blades not on and with no sound of propulsion just a faint crackle of electromagnetism," said Costello.
"I don't think it was extraterrestrial but might be technology developed by Nikolai Tesla who had a facility here and now this was being used by the US, Canadian and British Military."

The documentary's director - Mark Christopher Lee - claims that he has found evidence to support this.

"What if what we are all seeing in the sky and thinking are extraterrestrial spacecraft are actually just a secret highly advanced earthbound technology?" he said.

"What if Prince Charles was involved with this project - does King Charles know the truth about UFOs? If so he should release this truth to the public. We deserve to know!"

As things stand, however, there is no concrete evidence to suggest that any of these events took place.

You can stream The King of UFOs now on Amazon Prime.

It was not a ufo, nor did it use ufo technology. Apparently it was a dud.

It might have been an Avrocar, which was invented in Canada,

Also from your link right below the part you copied and pasted  The first Avrocar (58-7055) was sent to NASA Ames, Moffett Field in California it first flew there on 17 May 1961 and was used for wind-tunnel testing. The second Avrocar took first tethered flight on 29 September 1959 lasting 12 seconds. The first un tethered flight occurred on 12 November 1959. Formal Air Force flight evaluations occurred at Avro in April 1960 and June 1961 - tests showed that the maximum speed was 35 mph and research at NASA showed that the Avrocar was aerodynamically unstable. The program was terminated in De... [More]

The thing is a distraction, a red herring. Sure, Earth sociopaths have ufo's and ufo technology; the Avrocar does not belong in that category, though.

The Avrocar itself may not have succeeded, but the concept, design, and lessons learned from it certainly did. I actually studied the Coandă effect during my time at university. One aspect that seems to be overlooked in discussions about the Avrocar is the use of centripetal forces. A disc rotating within another disc in the opposite direction can significantly reduce the gravitational pull on the entire system, which also contributes to its stability. With the addition of a few jet engines, this setup could result in one of the fastest moving objects on Earth, capable of executing incredible... [More]

Chat gpt agrees with me  If you have two disks as part of the same system—one larger external disk and a smaller inner disk, with the smaller one rotating in the opposite direction due to wheels rolling on a track—it could create some interesting mechanical effects, but it still wouldn’t "cancel" gravity. Here’s what might happen with such a setup: 1. Stabilization: The counter-rotating disks could potentially provide some stabilizing effects by distributing angular momentum. This might help the system remain more stable, similar to the way gyroscopes work, which could give it resista... [More]
