Multiple pilots have reported inexplicable near-collisions with unknown objects over the last few days.
Local reports have highlighted a spate of unexplained encounters between pilots and unidentified, unseen objects in and around the airspace of Turkey's capital city Istanbul.

The incidents saw pilots receive traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS) warnings near Sabiha Gokcen Airport, prompting extensive search efforts to try to track down the objects responsible.

"On final approach at 300 feet, we received a traffic alert," one pilot was recorded as saying. "It could be a drone or another aircraft. For your information."

"Sir, we have been dealing with this for the past two and a half hours," the control tower responded. "Several flights before you also received this warning. We have reported it to coastal authorities."
"We see descending traffic 500 feet below us," the pilot said. "It appears as an unidentified traffic on our system. It is now 5 miles ahead of us. We also received this warning on our previous flight."

Despite multiple searches of the surrounding area, no explanation for the phenomenon has been forthcoming.

Some have speculated that the near-misses could be connected to the mystery drones that had been reported above airbases in the United States and beyond in recent months.

Earlier this week, President Trump's administration played down the drones sighted over New Jersey, but that doesn't explain all of the sightings - especially those in other states or countries.

For now, the objects picked up on traffic avoidance systems over Istanbul continue to remain a mystery.

So what did it look like? All we get is this artist depiction of an "alien spaceship with the airplane" ... Is this what someone reported? Or a standard drone? Seems like it would make a difference...

People reporting that classic 1950s flying saucers says more about us dumb monkeys than anything else. What are the odds that ET took our TV and movie design when they built their spaceships?? Its a social phenomenon.

Did they report that? All I saw in this report was "maybe drones". I have seen two very different craft that were both saucer shaped. Clearly the movies were designed after  sightings, not before. Silly that people let media decide what makes you a dumb monkey to witness. The indoctrination runs deep.

It was the US media that coined the term "flying saucer" after Kenneth Arnold told them a story about flying objects he couldnt identify. (1947) After that reports increased exponentially... and UFOlogy was born.

Not to mention Hollywood portraying every alien ship as a flying saucer. Even the idea of underwater UFOs comes from Hollywood. Remember the flying underwater shuttle on the submarine Seaview that had the ability to come up out of the ocean and fly through the air on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in the 1960s?

It’s the same societal phenomenon with ghosts. Whatever is in the current zeitgeist is what people allegedly see. A century ago we had physical mediums vomiting ectoplasm. Nowadays that’s somehow miraculously gone and instead we have orbs and shadow people because that’s what present generations automatically think are representative of supernatural phenomena. A century from now it will be something else and these things too will have been forgotten. Cyclical societal trends.

No. I have noticed more unfounded stories lacking corroborative data.

Yeah it's hard to notice much when you think browsing the internet and demanding witnesses provide giftwrapped physical proof via web forum as if your opinion is meaningful to them constitutes research. Meanwhile they are teaching the people capable of learning what they have to share and society keeps advancing toward comprehension of the technology and origin point without you.

I think my opinion does matter to some as can be seen by their continued interactions with me. If I was so patently wrong, many folks would have put me on ignore here. Yet, they still try to sell me on whatever story/sighting they have. Even you, interact with me and even go to the lengths to state how much my opinion does not matter to you. Yet, here you are still letting me know what you think. Because subconsciously, others opinions matter to you. Thank you for your cooperation. ? I spend quite a bit of time outdoors actually. 3-4 times a year I spend at least a week on camping expeditions... [More]
