Police investigate visit by mysterious 'box demon' in Pennsylvania

The 'box demon'. Image Credit: Northern York County Police A doorbell camera recorded the moment last week when a woman dressed up in a bizarre outfit with a paper plate as a mask showed up outside a Pennsylvania home and left a large cardboard box outside.

Eerily, she then walked up to the doorbell camera and stated aloud - "I am the box demon!"

"I leave this gift, this box, this gift, for you."

She then left the scene.

The homeowner reportedly had no idea at all who the person was and it wasn't long before the police had been called out to investigate the incident.Officers examined the box she had left but quickly concluded that it was completely empty.

An appeal for information was then posted up on the official NYCP website.

The strangeness didn't end there, either, as - a few days later - local news outlets reported that the police had apprehended the person responsible.

Unfortunately, however, no further details were provided, meaning that we may never know who the 'box demon' was or why they had left a cardboard box outside this particular property.
