Dark energy may not actually exist at all

A new study has suggested that the mysterious dark matter and energy in our universe may not actually exist at all.
Planets, stars and other recognisable componenets of our universe make up only 4 percent of the total mass with dark matter and energy accounting for the rest of it, but now this has been called in to question and scientists are trying to determine if the manner in which this has been calculated is fundamentally wrong.
Dark matter and energy, the mysterious forces thought to make up 96 per cent of the universe, may not exist according to a groundbreaking study. British scientists have claimed that the method used to calculate the make-up of the universe may be wrong.

I don't think dark matter exists. I have my own theory for the mass difference, which I have expressed in other threads. There are limits to what we are able to detect out in space. To try and quantitate the universe is an enormous undertaking, if possible at all. Edit for typos

Here's another perspective, from a sci-fi novel ~ “You have two choices, Mr. St. Patrick. You may join us or wither and die with the weak.” “There are never only two options, Etna.” “Positive, negative. That is all.” He flicked his hand as though his words made it so. “And neutral.” “Neutral? That is like stasis, not alive, not dead. It is powerless. It is nothing. Void.” “It is the dark matter giving form to everything. There is no such thing as a void. Even the void is made up of something. Positive and negative reactivity is not a demonstration of relativity, but the p... [More]

It's hard to prove what you do not understand. If anything like this is the case it's going to be a long time for science to figure it out.

Theyre just saying it doesnt exist because there is no input data and they dont want to bother

whole universe is inside a crystal ball we will never detect what they dont want us to detect.... n we will never get outta our solar system.... who knows if the distant stars n galaxies we r taking pics of trying to find r just holograms n this is a matrix a maze.... for example we look at the world n we see different colors.... sky is kinda blue.... water is blue/greenish n of other shades.... what if it isnt what we see.... n some animal most of which r color blind see everything in black n white shades [ as the scientists say] so what if kinda we see n we learn or we know only what they/go... But... It has to exist. Enough people on these forums with Bachelors degrees have said so, so it has to be true. (Sarcasm) I don't think we know everything yet. I don't believe Dark Matter or Dark Energy has been physically located yet, so I could be it isn't really there.

It's like attempting to prove the human body has a soul. That is how hard it is going to be to prove. But ............ Observational evidence The first person to provide evidence and infer the presence of dark matter was Swiss astrophysicist Fritz Zwicky, of the California Institute of Technology in 1933.[6] He applied the virial theorem to the Coma cluster of galaxies and obtained evidence of unseen mass. Zwicky estimated the cluster's total mass based on the motions of galaxies near its edge and compared that estimate to one based on the number of galaxies and total brightness of the cluster... Great read! But the greatest minds on our planet cannot come to a conclusion on this ! Like Hawking Radiation,String Theroy, and the Likes! If we survive the next twenty years I`ll be very surprised. As for the Cosmos Its got a tad bit longer to be around If you believe the current est. 30 Billion years,That in its self seems like a very Man made number to me. Sorta Like the few gallons of Oil BP said was only leaking outta the Gulf Spill ! Now thats some dark energy !
