Scientists claim to have discovered the "Achilles heel" of the Malaria parasite.
Over the years the single biggest obstacle to overcome in the development of an effective vaccine for Malaria has been its adaptability. Now however scientists believe they've identified the disease's weakness, a discovery that could lead to a vaccine within the next two to three years.
A vaccine that could wipe out malaria and save millions of lives is now in development. Currently there is no licensed treatment for the mosquito-borne, infectious disease which causes fever, headache and in severe cases coma or death.
