A team of designers from the Netherlands have somehow managed to reinvent the humble staircase.
The novel new invention looks like a cross between stairs and an elevator and enables a user to shimmy up a vertical shaft with minimal effort using nothing more than their arms and legs.Named 'Vertical Walking', the contraption has the potential to be a big space saver in densely populated cities and could even prove to be a good way to encourage more exercise.
