Man's insane five-inch thumb goes viral

Posted on Monday, 2 September, 2019 | Comment icon 11 comments
Jacob Pina stunned Internet users when he revealed that his abnormally large thumb is twice the normal length.
The 20-year-old college student, who hails from West Port, Massachusetts, has such a disproportionately enormous thumb that you'd be forgiven for thinking that it's fake.

As it turns out however, his ridiculously oversized digit is the real deal.

Pina doesn't know why his thumb - which is approximately five inches long - is so large, however after uploading photographs and video footage of it on social media he has since gained quite a following.

"There is no reason it's so big just an anomaly," he said. "When people see my thumb, they freak out and measure it next to their own thumb, I feel great about it."

"It's always great to be different and embrace your own essence."

A 20 year old teenager. That's almost as amazing as his thumb. (One video says he's a teenager. The article says he's 20. )

Oh he's packing... In the hand... I'm sure he gets charged extra for fingerprints. When he gives a thumbs up is he considered armed & dangerous?!?!

I wonder if its just the one thumb?

I thought it might be just the one thumb.  In the article he didn't speak about the other one, so I gather it's just one of his thumbs.  How extraordinary!

A species is said to have an opposable thumbs if the thumb can touch all of the other digits on the hand. He may be way evolved, but is certainly all thumbs.
