Watery face in clear blue sky

Image Credit: CC 2.0 JDP90 I'm not sure if I am the only one. It has been roughly 20 years since this happened but I think of it often and wanted share. I am looking for comparable stories or even a theory on what I may have witnessed. I was 18 and it was a summer day with crystal clear blue sky. I was playing on my skateboard in the road. As I stopped to relax I looked up in the sky and an image of a human face appeared from nothing in the clear sky. It looked as if the image was water by nature. The face seemed of an average mans face with a full facial beard but trimmed short.

The face shimmered as if it were observing me. It probably only lasted a few seconds then without me blinking it was gone just like it appeared. This was very real. I have told many people in my life but have yet to hear any explanations or theories as to what it was. I'm hoping to learn of similar incidents or encounters.
