A commemorative metal UFO has been placed at the location of the famous 1980 encounter.
The original incident took place near R.A.F Woodbridge in Surrey which at the time was being used by the US Air Force.

Several dozen military personnel witnessed the strange object that appeared in the forest over three successive nights. Colonel Charles Halt famously lead a team of men out in to the woods to investigate during the UFO's third appearance and made a series of audio recordings detailing what he was seeing.

"Our security team observed a light that looked like a large eye, red in colour, moving through the trees," he later said of the incident. "After a few minutes this object began dripping something that looked like molten metal. A short while later it broke into several smaller, white-coloured objects which flew away in all directions."
The case would go on to become the best known UFO case in Britain, sparking worldwide debate that continues to this day. Nobody has ever been able to determine what the men had witnessed in the forest that night and many people believe that what they encountered was not of this Earth.

Now more than 30 years later the Forestry Commission has set up its own metallic interpretation of the mysterious object in the very place where the soldiers originally encountered it.

"Clearly something happened - there's a party who believe it was something military, there are people who believe it was extraterrestrial activity and we respect all opinions," said recreation manager Nigel Turner. "We think it will fit in well, because it offers a goal for people completing the trail and also give an insight into our timber-growing and conservation work."

My problem with the Rendlesham incident is the governement's reaction. They say it was nothing to worry about or that there was nothing to investigate. Either the base was visited by an ET UFO or an unknown spy craft from elsewhere on Earth, or the highy trained military personel (including the second in command) where all either hallucinating, lying, or so flipping stupid they were chasing a lighthouse beam through the woods. Or a tad inebriated...which history tells us they most likely were. What ever answer the MOD decided to go with here, would seem to be a point of interest, and something... [More]

Or a tad inebriated...which history tells us they most likely were. OK. Cheers, Badeskov I don't buy the drunk story. Drunk people sleep around and start fights, they don't hallucinate. Can anyone say with honesty that they have seen pink elephants when they're drunk? or spaceships? And I was merely saying it resembled the deion of the bell... I don't think there is a Nazi time machine out there dropping into random forests

more I read of this case more I am convinced that it is a real event. although I do not think of whether an alien object. should be a military drone used for abduction of the military (which in any case are cooperators of the aliens in these cases) does not seem to be a machine suitable to accommodate someone inside. as said should be a drone to perform triangulations between the chip of people to kidnap and fasilities from where you start the machinery for the real abductions. the chip implanted in the body, but he could get the data to hundreds of miles away ... the object in the forest acts... I have no idea what position it is. cartography is human, this is certain. I think it is a point in the middle of the sea, or in inaccessible areas.   operational bases are usually alien under ground or under the sea is known bases near volcanoes. the data and the phrase printed in the mind of the military are only useful to those things then went to retrieve the drone is damaged. this is the logical reconstruction that I can try to make this event the UFO.

I didn't think that light houses shot beams of light straight down to the ground and dripped light like molted lead similar to coming out of crucibles. according to Col. Halt. But then what does he know. Even if he was there.

Well Maybe Wee need to Ask this question about "Rendlesham" How close is the Pub to the Base?

Hehehe okay to be skeptical, but believe that they were so drunk to see drones in the woods is ridiculous. In any case, the flying machine is not assured of alien. Only the technology to build it is of alien origin.
