Live tree frog is found inside a green pepper

An unsuspecting amphibian recently found itself at the center of a very peculiar mystery in Quebec, Canada.
When Nicole Gagnon sliced open a fresh green pepper while preparing food earlier this month, the last thing she expected to find was a small frog just sitting there inside the vegetable.

Nicole and her husband Gerard quickly placed their unusual guest into a container and called the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) to report the find.

"It's like the Caramilk secret," she said. "How the frog ended up in the pepper, I have no idea."

Her son Jonathan was able to confirm that the pepper, which had been purchased for $1.99, had been in one piece when it was bought and was most likely imported to the store from Honduras.
Sadly the MAPAQ ended up killing the frog during attempts to figure out how it got into the pepper, however it doesn't seem as though the amphibian's sacrifice has helped to solve the mystery.

As things stand, nobody seems to have a clue how it managed to end up in there.

You can check out some footage of the find below (the video is in French).

Sleep in the pepper patch they said, it'll be fine they said. I woke up in a prison with someone trying to shank me.

Like frogs don't have enough problems with coming close to extinction.......

This just reminded me of some documented cases of frogs and other small animals inexplicably found encased within stone and alive. But, I'm not sure if these cases are true or not.

Wouldn't you like to be in a pepper too?

I've found odd things in food. A tiny crab in a live oyster once at a restaurant. I got a free dozen oysters out of it.  A large (US quarter-size) dead spider in a head of romaine lettuce once too...That was just scary and required burning it all down.

They do that. It's their personal hotel room with a buffet.  A vegan wolf spider???
