This depiction of a woman on the lid of a 3,500-year-old Egyptian sarcophagus looks rather familiar.
The coffin, which was originally discovered back in 2023, has been making headlines this week after social media users cottoned on that the image on the lid looks a lot like Marge Simpson - the blue-haired matriach of the fictional cartoon family in The Simpsons.

The resemblance is actually quite uncanny - even down to the green dress, yellow skin and blue hair, although we don't remember Marge's hair being quite this square-shaped.

In reality, the coffin is that of Tadi Ist, who was the daughter of an ancient Egyptian high priest.

Surrounding the image are depictions of twelve high priestesses, representing 12 hours of the day.
The coffin was found at Griefa in Tuna Al-Jabal Minya.

According to the original press release, also found at the site were "amulets, sweets, stone and wooden coffins with mummies, as well as a collection of pottery and wood Oshabty statues."

Archaeologists hailed the finds as some of the most significant in the region in years.
