Glowing red eyes in my window

Image Credit: sxc.hu Not sure how this works but I'm looking for answers. Last night I had a terrifying experience. Around 12:30 I woke up and went to go get a drink. I was sitting in our dining room in front of our sliding glass door. All of the lights were off in the house and I was sitting in the dark.

I had been there a few minutes when my four-year-old son woke up and came out there by me. He sat in the chair next to me and then said "look mama eyes". I looked up and there were two glowing red eyes in the window.At first I thought maybe there's a light behind me but there were no lights on in the house. The door leads to our fenced in side yard and there was no lights out there. It was terrifying - I just stared at them until they just disappeared. I ran and turned on the light and nothing was out there. We measured this morning and whatever it was the eyes stood about 4ft and 3 inches tall.

What could possibly be that tall and have glowing red eyes ?
