Artist creates Nativity scene out of cheese

A UK artist has sculpted an entire Nativity scene using only a cocktail stick and some cheddar cheese.
Cheese might not be the first material that springs to mind when it comes to sculpting, but for Prudence Staite - an artist commissioned by the Pilgrims Choice cheese company - a block of cheddar can prove to be a surprisingly versatile alternative to conventional modelling clay.

The Nativity scene, which features the intricately detailed figures of Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the three wise men, was crafted over the course of five days and used over six pounds of cheese.

"We wanted to have some fun and create the ultimate Christmas nativity scene from our mature cheddar cheese," said a Pilgrims Choice company spokesman.

a little bit tasteless! Well, that really depends on the type of cheese, now doesn't it?

An interesting artistic exercise but I am not sure it has a place on a site dedicated to unexplained mysteries. Too many of these 'non mystery' articles are now appearing here.
