Woman opens egg to find another egg inside

Finding an egg inside another egg is a rare occurrence. Image Credit: CC BY 2.0 Brett Jordan The couple, who keep chickens and regularly dine on egg-based meals, had cracked open a particularly large egg expecting to see a double yolk but instead found a whole other egg inside.

"When I collected the eggs one evening, there was this rather large one that I suspected might have a double yolk inside which I have come across before," said Chris.After his wife cracked it open however he heard her calling for him to come and take a look.

"I have never seen anything like it before," he said. "It was much smaller than the first egg and perfectly round."

The second egg, as it turned out, contained nothing but egg white.
