A new History Channel series will feature the story from the perspective of Maj Jesse Marcel's grandchildren.
There are few events in UFO lore as hotly debated as the Roswell incident, an event that has been covered in countless books, documentaries, TV shows and movies over the last few decades.

It all began back in June 1947, several weeks before the official press release on July 8th.

William Brazel, a foreman working on the Foster homestead, discovered a quantity of debris spread out approximately 30 miles north of Roswell. He returned with his family on July 4th to gather some of it up, but after hearing reports about 'flying discs' he decided to mention it to Sheriff George Wilcox.

Wilcox then spoke to RAAF Major Jesse Marcel who came to examine the debris for himself.
While Marcel died many years ago, his grandchildren - John Marcel, Jesse Marcel III and Denice Marcel - have now come forward to tell their side of the story.

In a new 3-part documentary series on The History Channel entitled 'Roswell: The First Witness', the trio investigate their grandfather's experiences at the time of the incident by way of his diary.

"What's interesting is that the journal moved from grandfather's hands, to our father's and now to ours," said Jesse. "'Inside is a bunch of rambling that doesn't really fit with who our grandfather was."

"There are breaks in the journal that are not clear, but it could be a secret code."

The series follows the Marcel grandchildren, as well as host and former CIA operative Ben Smith, as they follow the trail of clues, speak to witnesses and try to piece together what really happened.

You can watch the first episode on Saturday, December 12th at 9PM ET/PT.

You do realize that ufo alien researchers not skeptics have thoroughly debunked and exposed claims made but glenn dennis, frankie rowe and frank Kaufman to name just a few of to be blunt Frank kaufman was a big story teller of bodies recovered and iirc it was none other that kevin Randal who after kaufmans death with help of his widow exposed his fraud.

@Brandy333, I'm sure your father was a tremendous Noncommissioned Officer who served his nation faithfully and honorably. That being said, I seriously doubt that what he was told was anything factual. Most likely someone was messing with him as jokes and practical jokes were (and still are) part and parcel of military life. I'm approaching 23 years of active military service in the Army myself. I have had the privilege to speak with individuals who were assigned to both the Roswell and Alamogordo Army Airfields either at the time or in the following years. To a person, they laugh at the a... [More]

Thank you for your insights, and  what you say makes sense.   I posted my father's medals on another post not in boasting but because I'm proud of him and proud to have been his daughter.

No problem at all. There's a lot of confusion when it comes to Roswell and everything that has been put out over the years. I did not take it as boasting at all. He was a great an honorable American and you should absolutely be very proud of him and what he did for his country.

Your father and dozens of others have made sure the government didn’t get away with Roswell. Sounds like a great man. Hats off to you and he.

Nope. The evil gov was exposed as having a secret balloon project.

Was it aliens? Probably not. But it wasn’t a weather balloon. People speaking out and giving deathbed confessions are ,in my opinion, borderline heros by not allowing the government to mow over the truth.

Why not? What specifically excludes balloons?  Have you heard the deathbed confessions or actually looked properly into any claims? They don't stack up. I don't think spreading hearsay makes one a hero myself.

Why was Major Marcell, the soldier recovering crash debris, depicted as a corporal???
