Unexplained light flashes

For several years I have witnessed very bright flashes of light in my living room. Most of the instances were early in the morning and I would see the flash from the corner of my eye.

I thought I was seeing reflections from aircraft approach lights through the windows.

About two months ago I was sitting in the living room and saw a huge flash of light from over my left shoulder. Once again I only saw what happened from my peripheral vision and really didn't get a good look. The light came from inside the room.
Just a few days ago I was sitting in the living room looking out through the windows when a teardrop shape of a bright light about the size of a baseball seemingly flew out of the wall, across the room and made a 90 degree turn toward the window, at which point it disappeared.

No smoke. No sound. The light was bright as a welder's torch.

I'm not really creeped out by these occurrences but I have to wonder if other people have have this sort of thing going on in their homes.

Wondering when you last had your eyes checked? Flashes and floaters can be caused by detachment of the vitreous from the retina.

I was going to make the same comment. Have had this vitreous gel detachment in both of my eyes, some years apart. It really is quite alarming until you know the cause. If the occurrences have occurred in different eyes over time, this is likely cause. Vitreous gel detachment is not as serious as retinal detachment and self heals but you should always be checked out in case retinal detachment is involved.

I see light flashes out of the corner of my eyes. At first I thought it might be my eyes but learned later it wasn't. What you describe is lager than what I see. I live in an apartment building that is very active with paranormal occurrences. Some of which the "experts" (paranormal investigators) can not explain. The flashes I get come from entities which we haven't identified. I had a friend who lived on first floor who saw what you describe. She too saw it from the corner of her eyes and described the flash as you have. I wish I could tell you what causes it but we don't know. Since my fri... [More]
